SKIN CARE FAQ
What is a Facial?
A facial is a professional cleansing and purifying treatment of the skin on the face, neck and décolleté. Facials are the number one treatment that are performed by estheticians and a good way for your esthetician to understand your skin prior to suggesting more aggressive treatments, if needed.
Why do I need a facial?
Having a regular facial routine is more about your skin’s heath and the maintenance of your
skin rather then it being about pampering; although it is a very relaxing and enjoyable
experience. Facials help increase circulation and stimulate the skin. They can also help slow
down the process of premature aging and help improve conditions such as acne, redness and
Rosacea. Men can also enjoy getting facial services. It helps minimize irritation, redness, razor burn, and ingrown hairs that are associated with shaving.
How often should I get a facial?
Facials are recommended once per month. You can discuss your specific needs and desired
outcomes with your esthetician to get a routine schedule going.
What happens on the day of my facial?
Arrive 10 minutes before your facial appointment to fill out a health form and answer some
questions about your skin.
How soon will I start seeing results from my facial?
Some people will see results right away! Your skin should FEEL different right away; clean,
smooth and hydrated. If the skin has more long-term needs (aging, acne or hyper-
pigmentation) results may not be visible right away. The health of your skin will continue to
improve as long as you follow the advice from your esthetician.
Will the facial hurt or be uncomfortable?
You should never feel irritation, burning or any discomfort during your facial. If for some reason you feel any discomfort, let your esthetician know right away.
